How Does a Love Spell Work? What to Expect When You Order One

Love magic is as old as village life. Polish girls once wove wreaths of herbs and flowers on Kupała Night and set them floating on the river with a candle; where the wreath drifted, and who caught it, was read as a sign. Lovage — lubczyk, whose name shares a root with lubić, 'to like' — was put in bathwater or slipped into a pocket before a dance. On St Andrew's Eve, at the end of November, young people poured hot wax through a key into cold water and read the shapes for hints of a future sweetheart.

These customs were hopeful, playful and deeply human. They were about drawing love near, opening the heart and asking for luck — not about forcing anyone.

What actually happens when I cast a love spell

First, I read your order slowly: the names you give me, what has happened, what you hope for. Then I prepare the table. For love work I usually use beeswax candles, red thread, honey or sugar for sweetness, and herbs such as lovage or rose. I cleanse the space with salt and smoke, light the candle, and speak the working aloud — your name, the other person's name if you have given it, and the love you are asking for.

Depending on the spell, I may knot thread, bind a small bundle, or let a candle burn down completely while I keep watch. When it is done, I note what I saw — how the flame burned, how the wax fell — and I write it all down for you.

You then receive a letter as a PDF in your account and by email. It tells you what I did and suggests small things you may do at home, such as keeping a red thread or lighting a candle on a certain evening.

Free will: the line I do not cross

Some people ask me to make a person love them no matter what. I understand that pain; I have felt it too. But a spell is prayer and intention, not a chain. I ask for love to be opened, for misunderstandings to soften, for the path between two people to be cleared. I do not, and cannot, take away another person's choice.

If someone has hurt you, frightened you or controlled you, please do not use a spell to try to win them back. Look after your own safety first, and speak to people you trust or to professional support.

Choosing a spell, strength and length

In my shop each love spell has a few choices. Casting strength decides how much work and material goes into the ritual. Manifestation length is the period the spell is intended to carry over — for example a few months, a year or two, or longer. These choices shape the casting. They are not a promise of when, or whether, anything will change.

What to expect afterwards — honestly

Results vary, moja droga. Some people tell me they feel calmer, braver or clearer afterwards. Some see things shift in their relationship; others do not. Life, other people and time all have their say. A spell is a spiritual practice, not a guarantee, and I would rather lose an order than mislead you.

What helps is to live in the direction of your hope: be kind to yourself, keep your dignity, speak honestly when the moment comes. The old village customs always paired magic with ordinary good sense.

Signs, dreams and patience

People often ask me what signs to look for after a love spell. In the villages, girls watched their dreams on Kupała Night and St Andrew's Eve, and every creak of the gate was a message. I understand the wish to read meaning into everything. But I would gently ask you not to spend your days hunting for signs. Watching too hard turns hope into worry, and worry is heavy to carry.

If you dream of the person, notice a song, or feel a sudden calm, you may take comfort from it. If nothing unusual happens, that does not mean the work was wasted or that something is 'blocking' it. Love moves in its own time, through ordinary days and ordinary conversations. Keep a small red thread or candle from my letter if you like, light it on a quiet evening, and then go and live your life.
